Well finals are now over and it feels good. I think I did well. I hope all of you have a fantastic break and enjoy whatever you celebrate! I will talk to you in a month. Thanks for reading. -Stetson
I was happy to find out that I don't have any finals on Monday so this is pretty much like a three day weekend. My study method for finals is usually study for the final you have the next day and so on until the week is over. It works for me, I'm not saying it'll work for you so try at your own risk. We got snowed on pretty good. I'm going to really be bummed if finals get pushed back due to snow but I don't think they will so I'm not too worried.
Ok, break is over, time to get to work and finish the semester. It shouldn't be too rough, but still I need to get my game face on. Finals season is a mixture of boredom and responsibilities which can be confusing. One of the guys I live with named Max, you might remember him as "harmonica guy", likes to call it "boredability". Right now I'm at the boredom stage and will soon move on to the responsibility stage. Wish me luck.
Well folks, two more days and it's Thanksgiving break. I can't wait. I spent today and yesterday on a paper for Sociology. I wrote about how TV can affect children in a negative way and what laws and possible solutions there are to prevent it. After they're done I like papers. I learn a lot more from them and a lot quicker than anything else I think. I'm excited for Thanksgiving, you can't beat lots of food family and friends. My family and my girlfriend's family is getting together which is fun. Our hockey team won this weekend! Have a great Thanksgiving!
Well this may be my last completely relaxed, no work weekend till Thanksgiving Break. After Thanksgiving we just have a couple weeks in most classes where we just prepare for the final, so all those papers and projects assigned tend to be due this next week and a half. I'm unsure how well I'll be able to manage all the stuff to be done, but I'm determined to do it right and on time. I haven't fallen behind once yet here so I don't plan on doing it this year. We were supposed to get a lot of snow (at least I heard) but when anybody hears there's going to be a chance of snow everybody thinks they're a weatherman.
This week was pretty basic, not a lot due or to do because of all the stuff I mentioned coming up, so I took it as easy as I could to get amped up for this week's work.
Tonight I'm in Longmont. Every year my parents and their friends and their families get together and it's usually a lot of fun with good food, music, and stories. Hope you're all staying warm.
Well I'm really glad it's the weekend. It came fast, but this was a long busy week. I had a lot of early meetings with a few people this week so my days started early and ended late with friends. I've also been trying to manage a couple classes that have group projects due. I'm sure I sound like a broken record when it comes to group projects, but they take so much work and planning.
This weekend I plan to do as little as possible. I don't have any homework that I can think of right now so I'm going to take advantage of this free time. Monday it'll start all over again so I try not to get too comfortable. I hope you all had a great week and have a good weekend!
Well I don't know where all of you guys are, but it snowed fairly hard here. I have to say I'm surprised we had school today, but I only had one class today so it might as well have been a day off. This week has been pretty laid back. I think it's the weather. Nobody feels too motivated to do much with cloud cover overhead. The week started with a test. It didn't go too bad, but last weekend I was busy in Estes Park so I didn't have too much time to study.
I spent the weekend at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes and it was great! I'm glad I went to school in-state because I can still do stuff in the mountains every once and awhile. If you haven't been to the Y of the Rockies before, it's very cool. The place is surrounded by mountains so you feel like you're in the middle of a big basin. It snowed up there too and you could see it coming over the mountains before it hit us. It was very cool. On top of that they had and 18 hole disc-golf coarse! It was like a hike and golfing combined.
Hope all of you are staying warm, or cool, depending on where you are. Please ask me any questions you have and I will answer them!
Thanks for reading.
Hey guys,
It’s amazing how a lack of a decent sleep changes how you start your day. Today I felt like a slug getting out of bed. I can’t tell you how glad I am for a Starbucks in the UC and a house-mate who is practicing “Take me out to the Ball Game” on the harmonica, both are good for waking up.
This was a fairly busy week. Part of my job here at UNC is to give tours of the campus and I gave two this week which isn't easy to do since my schedule is already pretty tight. I really like giving tours, especially when my group is energetic. Besides tours I've just been going to class and practicing some music with a couple friends. We play for a college Christian group on campus called the Navigators. I took a midterm last week and I found out it went very well which I was glad about, now I have to get ready for a test on Monday. I've found that it's important to know your limits here, because there's so much stuff you can do here that you could easily burn out by over committing yourself to too many things.
Last weekend was a good way to start this week though. It was relaxing and a lot of fun. Friday felt like a Saturday because after classes I went Frisbee golfing with some friends on campus and came home, relaxed, and then went straight to the UNC hockey game which was a lot of fun. Saturday started off with another game of Frolf at a park near campus which was really cool. After the game we got some slurpees and just relaxed at home. That night I cooked up some Irish stew (which wasn't too bad), and after that I just hung out with some friends and played a couple board games for the rest of the night. Sunday was about the same. I went to church, played another round of Frolf (my girlfriend thinks I'm addicted), and relaxed until that night when I met with some guys I'm in a study group with.
This weekend shouldn't disappoint either. I'm going on a Navigators retreat at the YMCA of the Rockies which is just a couple hours away. I leave tomorrow at noon and don't get back till Sunday afternoon.
That's all that's really happened lately. I'm sure I'll have more to talk about in a week or so. Until then, send me some emails at stetson.uncoblog@yahoo.com with questions, comments, anything, and I will be reading them.

I’m a junior Communications major and Sociology minor and both programs are pretty sweet. It’s nice to really start having my classes focus on my major. Don’t get me wrong, I liked a lot of my Liberal Arts classes my first two years, but the classes I’m taking this year really relate to what I want to do after college. My long term goal is to be a youth pastor and I’m really looking forward to it.
Well it finally happened, the last big milestone for a while. I turned 21 and you know what that means! That’s right, I had to go to the DMV to get my license renewed! I was dreading it but it actually wasn’t too bad. The DMV in Greeley wasn’t busy at all and I was the second number called.
Aside from that, I’ve just been getting ready for some small group presentations again. This’ll be the second in two weeks. Happily, last weekend was pretty relaxing. I just went home (Longmont) to celebrate my birthday with my family and girlfriend. That being said, I probably put off working on those projects lol.
I’m really enjoying my Family Communications class. It’s about stuff that I’m sure will really come in handy in the future. That’s what I really love about my major, I can see it being useful in a career and just in life in general. Sociology is pretty cool too. It’s just interesting how groups of people interact with each other.
Now this is the part where you come in. Send me comments on the blog or emails at stetson.uncoblog@yahoo.com. I’d love any questions, comments, rude remarks (within reason), anything you’d like to throw at me so have at it. I’ll see you next week.
